Arson attack on Philadelphia International Record's Studio this morning

Above: Chuck Gamble

Philadelphia International Record's studio was set ablaze in the small hours of this morning, following a break-in through the roof of the building. The legendary studio was founded by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, who produced many RnB hits there through the 60s & 70s. Michael Jackson, The O'Jays & Teddy Prendergrass are just a few of the many luminaries who recorded there during it's glory days. Thankfully the label's 10,000 original tapes were unnaffected, as they're "stored underground in a vault secretly somewhere". Get the full lowdown here and here.

The Three Degrees released a lot of material on PIR,
here's an edit of their 'Jump The Gun' I did last year.
